NEXT:- GENERAL MEETING

WEDNESDAY 15th MAY 2024

10:00 a.m.

Now the COVID-19 restrictions for CCMT are easing we are back to normal staffing. Our volunteers as well as most of our clients are in the high-risk category, so we need to adhere to high hygiene standards and social distancing. We are still operating to provide this much needed service, our office is back to normal hours, open from 8:30am to 12:30am Monday to Friday. Please follow our driver’s instructions on hygiene standards and social distancing when on your trip. We thank you for your understanding in this difficult time. If we are careful and follow the rules, we should all stay safe and get through this together.

You are no longer required to check-in to visit the office or travel in our cars. It is still advisable to wear a mask when visiting the offce.

From this time on we will not be using our FAX anymore, it has now been disconnected.

The purpose of Cooloola Coast Medical Transport Inc. (CCMT) is to ensure the residents of the Cooloola Coast have access to medical treatment by providing transport to health services at all locations between Hervey Bay in the north and Brisbane in the south, paying particular attention to the aged, frail and disabled.

It is designed to overcome the difficulty in obtaining transport to medical appointments experienced by geographically and socially isolated people who require a door to door transport service which is outside the scope of the Queensland Ambulance Service guidelines and which cannot be supplied by other means of private or public transport.

We provide transport for medical related appointments only, shopping or other activities are not permitted under any circumstances.

CCMT is a not for profit volunteer organisation and although we will try our utmost to satisfy everyone's requirements, it is necessary to understand that our drivers are not medically trained and therefore cannot be expected to transport patients who are not fit to travel. It is highly recommended a partner or carer travel with our clients that need a little help.

As volunteer drivers are donating their spare time, it is also necessary that procedures are followed to enable them enough time to be prepared and organised. We please ask you to understand it is extremely difficult to acquire a driver at short notice therefore when possible please make your appointment for travel promptly.

Currently our drivers operate Monday to Friday, however weekend travel may be provided if a driver is available.

PLEASE NOTE COOLOOLA COAST MEDICAL TRANSPORT INC. IS NOT AN EMERGENCY SERVICE, IN CASE OF AN EMERGENCY PLEASE RING 000 FOR AN AMBULANCE.

We hope this helps you to understand our service better so that we can continue to work together successfully for the benefit of all concerned.
